Once Upon a Springtime Castle Album

Hi Creative Charms friends!  Jan here with a Springtime Castle and I'm so ready for Spring!  Our temps here in Iowa have been cold and the weather just said that Thursday night it's suppose to be -13!
The sequin flowers, pearls and butterfly are Creative Charms.  Die is Accucut and Spellbinder's and the paper is Graphic 45.

If what they say is true, and life is like a box of chocolates..mine is half eaten!  LOL
Here's an altered box of chocolates.  I decorated the inside with vintage images and the tiny pink pearls from Creative Charms.

Altered Printer Tray

I made this for my husband's birthday recently. Printer trays are all the rage and I thought this would like nice in his office. My husband restored this tractor and is quite proud of it. I decided to only use black and white product so the red of the tractor would pop. (I used My Mind's Meadowlark collection for the papers and diecuts). I am a bit of a dummy when it comes to photos and printing, but I love to use the collage feature for projects like this. If I select the 4x6 collage option and upload two photos at a place like Walgreens, when I cut the photos out they fit easily into the rectangles on this tray.

A little BLING never hurts!

Oh how I love me some BLING!

This month I got to play with some of the FAB bling bling found here at Creative Charms (really called Vintage Jewels and brads) but I like the slang. Hee! Here are a couple of LO's that I created using some of the products.

You COMFORT Me!

Using the fun Echo Park Little Boy line that I got to play with from YSS and the LO also featured at Color Combos Galore Sketch #175 as a Guest Designer.

Here are some detailed pics below.

You can also see a small tutorial on my blog on how to add a little dimension on your pages using stamps.

I love the little clusters of stars in the corner of the Lo with the orange vintage jewels. I am in love with this right now.

My Sweet Handsome Little Boy
This LO is also featured at Color Combos Galore Challenge #176.Products are from Echo Park Little Boy line from YSS. I used the two shades of blue Vintage Jewels and brads for this LO as well as the vintage pearls. You can see them much better below.

I hope you enjoyed some of my sample work and encouraged you to use your products. I have a couple more cards and a few LO's to share soon.

Thanks for letting me share and hope you have a wonderful day.

Sweet Treats for Valentine’s Day

I tried to think “outside the box” on this Creative Charms Project.

Some of my fellow CC Designers have really come up with creative ideas to use CC products. I decided to work them into my Valentine treats.

I cut these Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers on my Cricut using Sure Cuts Alot (SCAL). The files are from SVG Cuts (I was recently invited to join their design team). Papers by Bo Bunny.

Here is a peek at each wrapper and topper and details on the Creative Charms products used.
For the first one I used Gradient Pearls.

This one features Vintage Jewels , Gradient Gems & Vintage Poppies.

For this wrapper & topper I used Gradient Pearl Stickers & Vintage Pearl Brads.

This last one would be perfect for a Princess Party! I used Vintage Jewels & Gradient Gems.

Thanks for stopping by & hope you have a Happy/Crafty Valentine’s Day!

"My Heart's Desire" Candle Jar Decor

Hi Everyone!
True :D here.

Being a card maker, I have a tendency to use smaller embellishments but every now and then, I break away from the ordinary.
I used some larger pieces form this month's Creative Charms Kit of The Month to decorate this candle jar up for Valentine's Day.

The kit is called "My Heart's Desire" and it has lots of fun things to play with!

Here are some of my latest cards using Creative Charms...
I used a Pink Vintage Pearl Brad, which is also in the January Kit of the Month, on the first two cards.
This image is from Inky Antics.

This image is one of my digis called "Love You BeeCause"

On this one I used some Pink Gradient Pearl Stickers.
The image is one of my illustrations that I donated to help raise money for a fellow crafter.

This one used some Gradient Gems that started out clear but I colored them with Copic markers to color match perfectly. One of my favorite tricks!  :)
The image is from Lily of the Valley.

This card uses Gradient White Pearl Stickers and an Inky Antics image.

Thanks for taking the time to have a peek.
If you would like to see more pictures or get all of the details for any of the cards above, just click on the picture to be taken to that post. ;)

Hugs,

Valentine Projects

Hello friends! When I was ordering my goodies to work with this month I knew I wanted to work in pink, red and clear pearls and gems.

I heart U Typewriter Card

  • I printed this Love Actually Paper by Polka Dot Pixel on white textured American Crafts card-stock.
  • I trimmed to fit the card front.
  • I tied a bow out of red binding tape and wrapped it around the card front.
  • I zigzag stitched it to the card.
  • I stamped the Hero Arts typewriter stamp in Red Versafine ink on Neenah White Card-stock.
  • I hand trimmed the typewriter and adhered Pink Gradient Pearl Stickers to the keys.
  • I stamped the I & U on the paper and drew in the heart on the paper.
  • I adhered the paper to the card front with foam adhesive from American Crafts.
Hybrid xoxo card

  • I die cut this heart shape using my silhouette, a Hearts 4U by Laina Lamb, and American Crafts City Park Patterned Paper.
  • I adhered it to the card front, added White Gradient Pearl Stickers to each circle in the pattern.
  • I added some American Crafts Stream City Park Decorative MixTape.
  • I hand stitched around the heart and around the edge of the card with DMC floss.
LOVE

  • I used printed up a picture of my son Jordan with a lollipop.
  • I cut a piece of Making Memories Paper the same length as the picture and adhered both to the card-stock.
  • I machine stitched in red thread around the edges for definition.
  • I placed a white gradient brad in two locations and wrapped red/white divine twine around the brad and mini attached the other side.
  • I glued on up-cycled letters for the title (a find from an old drive-in!)
  • I punched a circle of the same patterned paper and added it to the top left side of the card-stock.
  • I threaded more divine twine to a black button and adhered it to the circle.
macaron

  • I printed a picture of some of my favorite Guava Macarons
  • I added a title with thickers
  • I added some American Crafts Dear Lizzy Stickers
  • I added some Pink Gradient Pearl Stickers to the title and to various stickers to add interest.
love to read book mark

I saw a paper heart banner on how about orange and thought it would be a cute way to make a dimensional paper heart that I could sew on as an accent.
  • I punched three hearts out of this old Making Memories glossy pink houndstooth and trimmed two of the three hearts.
  • I rounded the corners of the book mark.
  • I stacked the three and machine stitched them onto this card-stock strip.
  • I machine stitched down the middle and around the edges.
  • I added pink vinyl thickers to say love to read.
  • I added Pink Gradient Gem Stickers to the title and down the center of the hearts.
I hope you've enjoyed my projects and are inspired to make something for someone special (and you are someone special too!) Thanks for stopping by!

Love Notes for a Creative Valentines

Hello all to all of our creative friends and readers!
Today I have some projects that I made with the deal of the month which is stock full of lovely unique Valentine themed goodies~
Here is a pic of the deal of the month  for January called BE MINE and all the goodies that came to me

Be Mine Deal of the Month for January

Valentine Card Holder
I have been busy making Valentine goodies! As you can see, I have a big sweeth tooth! I made this valentine holder (it has a pocket inside that holds cards) to hold cards and goodies! I loved using the puffy hearts and then accenting them with the teeny tiny beaded hearts. I also of course used some of Creative Charms' yummy dotted ribbon on top of some luscious pink tulle-complete with cupcake embellishment and heart pin! To make this embellishment, you just need to make an accordion rosette and cupcake sticker.

Treat Bag Topper
What Valentine's Day would be complete without some yummy treats for that special teacher, friend, co-worker, and family member? I love to wrap the individual min chocolate bars with cardstocks and ribbons! I topped off the treat bag with that precious heart embellie from my deal of the month!

Candy Heart Box
Of course for that special friend or wee little one (yes my wee one already ate his chocolates out of here) you can always make a quick heart box from cardstock and decorate it with the Sweet Tooth epoxy stickers that came in the deal of the month!

Long Candy Box
Lastly I made these adorable paper boxes to hold mini candy bars or candy conversation boxes! As you can see Creative Charms always has that perfect accent for any project! I loved topping each cupcake wrapper with a mini beaded heart and then topping my box top off with that sweet puff ribbon rose from the deal of the month!

So hop on over to Creative Charms and grab one of these Deal of the Months before they are all sold out--it happens EVERY month!
