Fall Wedding Invitation Collage

I just love fall and I just love how Creative Charms has the perfect products for my projects! They have a great feature on their site. You can sort by color. I sorted by Orange & Brown and it was so incredibly easy to find the perfect embellishments for my project.

I started with the invitation. Visited my local Scrapbook Store, The Crop Shop for the perfect paper. I try and pick some solids along with patterned paper. (Can't go wrong with Bo Bunny)

Shadowbox frame is from Joanns. I cut the background papers on my Cricut using SCAL Software and files from SVG Cuts. I added dimension under the scallop shapes and invite and finished it off with my brown and orange goodies from Creative Charms.

A few closeups:

Try shopping by color on your next project - works perfect!

September Deal of the Month ... fresh ideas

Good Morning Everyone Summer here with another look at the September Deal of the month. I don't know if you realized but there are 2 themed deals this month ... BOY & GIRL. I received the boy themed kit to play with. I challenged myself to do something a little unexpected with some of the embellishments. Here are 3 cards with some fresh ideas ...

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper Cosmo Cricket, Punch/Scissors Fiskars, Alphas American Crafts, It's A Boy Felts/Epoxy Brads Creative Charms, Gem Stickers Creative Charms)

The felt boat accent is from the "It's a Boy" set. I love the idea of taking this from something "baby" to a whole new level. Then I sprinkled some additional gems around the card just like I showed you in my "Bling it Up" post from July.

(Supplied Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper Cosmo Cricket, Alphas Basic Grey, DMC Embroidery Floss Black, Yellow Fuzzy Ducks from Creative Charms)

This card is super simple. I simply added french knots for eyes and pop dotted the ducks on my card. This card follows the rule of 3's I tend to subconsciously follow when I scrapbook or make cards. First I tend to embellish in 3's (or odd numbers) and second I weighted the design elements to the bottom third of the card. This could easily be repeated with any element and greeting.

(Supplied Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper from Cosmo Cricket, Pinking Sheers IKEA, Alphas from October Afternoon/Basic Grey, Gem Stickers Creative Charms, Playtime Boy Felts & Epoxy Stickers)

This is my favorite card from the group. I like the idea of using this card for a 16th birthday or changing out the greeting to say "Congratulations", the card would be perfect for the new driver in your life. Notice how I used the gem stickers in all the sizes this gives the card flow and interest.

I hope you have a great Wednesday. Happy Crafting :)

those beautiful vintage brads

Hello again!

One of the greatest parts about being on this team is being able to choose which embellishments we'd like to work with each month. I decided that for this month I'd like to work with some of the beautiful pearls and vintage brads in the shop.

Here is the card I created:

Other: October Afternoon Fly A Kite collection, SRM Sticker sentiment, SEI ribbon, Prima leaves.

And a little bit closer look:

Thank you for stopping by!
Please make sure and take a look at all of the beautiful embellishments available in the Creative Charms store:

New Product - Make It Yours Vintage Frames

I wanted to show that you can use "vintage" products on "non-vintage" projects. Although I do dabble in creating vintage projects, I often find myself reaching for the bright colors. I mixed some Cosmo Cricket papers with the Vintage Make It Yours Self Adhesive Frames. I love that these frames give you a blank slate and so you can create matching embellishments for your project. On this card I put a flower from the paper into the frame, the clear sticker over the top and topped it with a Gradient Gem - white pearl. I also used a few of the clear stickers without the frames to highlight the words on my card.

Here are a couple other cards I made with the September Deal of the Month (girl). I used a three different types of gems and also that cute little duckie. There are so many goodies in this kit - I still have lots of embellishments left! You only have a few more days to order one - there is boy and girl option - only $7.99

Time for Fall!

Who's ready for fall? The weather is cooler where I am, and it's making me want to turn to all my fall paper. Creative Charms has some really adorable stuff just perfect for accenting fall layouts. For this layout, I used Echo Park "A Walk in the Park" pp again, and I'm loving it's fall pallet. I found adorable velvet flowers at Creative Charms, of just the right fall-orange color. And all the gems are part of the Deal of the Month (Boy). I love how the little gem accents the heart - gives it just the perfect touch :)

Supplies:
Vintage Poppies with Pearl Brads - CINNAMON
Deal of the Month
or
Gradient Gem Sticker - BLUE

I also made a little card, again using my Deal of the Month and Webster's Pages Petite Papers from the Lullaby Lane collection. For the "O" letter, I used on the the big round epoxy stickers and popped it out with a pop dot :)

From Labor of Love comes a Babyface!

Hi everyone! Jennifer Yates here on the CC blog today!

I wanted to share a couple layouts I created using the Vintage Pearl Brads, the Gradient Gem Stickers in Pink and the Yellow Fuzzy Ducks from the September Deal of the Month kit.

Both layouts are simple and clean but really make those CC embellishments pop!

I took this photo of my sister and her husband during labor with their first baby, little Jackson. I loved the vintage feels of the papers I used and thought the vintage pearl brads would be the perfect added touch. I also added the gradient gem stickers (pink) to add a subtle touch to the floral stickers.

(Other Supplies Used: Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Papers: Sassafras Lass, Cardstock Stic, kers: Sassafras Lass, Alphabet Stickers: Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket)

Here are a few closeups...

This layout is of my nephew Jackson, who gave my sis all the pain in the photo above..LOL! I took these pictures of him when he turned 3 months old and I knew the yellow fuzzy ducks would be so cute with his silly faces!

(Other Supplies Used: Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Papers: Cosmo Cricket, Alphabet Stickers: Cosmo Cricket)

I also included one of the butterflies from the Sparkled Butterfly Medley (blue) with the Gradient Gem Stickers (pink).

and some closeups...

That is all I have for you today! Have a great Tuesday!!!

sweet baby girl

When I found out that the September Deal of the Month would have a boy option or a girl option, I just knew I wanted to make a gift for my brother and his wife, who were expecting their first baby, a little girl!  I decided on this altered photo frame.  (The photo in the frame is NOT my brand new niece, who just arrived on Saturday!  For purposes of photographing the project, I put a photo of my oldest son into the frame, for "display purposes" only, lol!)

The awesome Deal of the Month has so much fun stuff in it!  I used some of the fun felt shapes from the "It's a Girl" felt pack, and I just love the fun brads that are also included.  I layered two of the brads along with buttons, die-cut paper and felt, to make these flower centers:

Along with the fun baby goodies in the Deal of the Month, I also used Pink Gradient Gems, a sparkled flower (which I replaced the center of with a pink gem), the fun polka dot ribbon, and the Gradient Pearls.

I also made a card to go with the gift, using another of the It's a Girl brads, more ribbon and a few more gradient gems.

I hope you've enjoyed this project!  You just can't beat the Deal of the Month, so grab it while it lasts!

It's in the Details

Hi everyone!

I can't tell you how excited I was when I opened my package from Creative Charms and saw some of the yummy new Christmas products. Christmas cards are some of my absolute favorite projects to make. I used some of the Christmas Twinkle Stickers to create this card. I then pulled out a Velvet Poppy and a Vintage Flower Button.

I also worked on a layout about my youngest DDs this weekend. I couldn't resist pulling out some of my Creative Charms pretties to add a bit of sparkle to this layout.
Look how awesome those Pure Blossoms look on the banner.

I also used Gradient Gem stickers and one of the flowers from the Blooming Garden set.
Have a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by!

Epoxy and Felt and Jewels, Oh My!

Hi! Wow - I am so excited!!! I am Sandra and this is my very first post on the Creative Charms Blog! I am thrilled and honored to be a member of a team of such talented designers!

I was so thrilled when I received my products that I made two projects!

The first I made for a dear friend who is expecting (a boy) using some of the products in the September Deal of the Month. I used the It's a Boy Hand Stitched Felt Stickers, the It's a Boy Epoxy Stickers, the Blue & White Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon and some Gradient Gem Stickers - Blue. All of this and more are in the September Deal of the Month!

I am going to attach the tag to a gift for the new little guy in hopes that my friend will complete his birth information in the spaces provided on the tag and then use it in his scrapbook or baby book.

The other project I made is a Thanksgiving card. I loved the Fancy Felt Flowers - Orange as soon as I saw them with their little wooden beaded centers and I knew that I wanted to use them to make an Autumn card. I also used some Gradient Gem Stickers - Amber and two light purple flowers from Spring Medley - Purple. I removed the yellow centers from the light purple flowers and replaced the centers with Gradient Jewels.

To purchase the products that I used and many more great products please visit creativecharms.com

I'll be back soon! Thanks and make it a great day!!! :o)

Velvet and Vintage Thank You Gift Set

Hi, it's Diane with a special fall gift set to share.  I have been waiting for a chance to use some of the beautiful vintage embellishments in fall colors and now that the season is changing the time is right.  This embellished candle would make a nice hostess present for an autumn dinner party and the card coordinates to make a lovely set.

I used the Vintage Poppies in Cinnamon for both the card and the candle.  On the card, I replaced the pearl brad in the center with one of the flowers from the 3D vintage brad - antique flower medley and on the candle I used a vintage sequin flower with pearl center for the center of the velvet poppy.

I wrapped the candle with two rows of Brown Velvet Ric Rac vintage ribbon and placed two of the vintage layered flowers  on either side of the vintage poppy.  The candle is real wax but is battery operated for safety so there is no need to worry about any fire hazard when you embellish the candle.

The card base is dark green Bazzill textured cardstock, the first layer is copper metallic cardstock from a DCWV stack and the top layer was printed on the new Cricut Imagine machine (it is a sample from the make and take at CHA).  The "Thank You" was cut with the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

If you would like step by step instructions, please visit my blog, Capadia Designs.

Precious Little One...

Sydney Rebecca
When I saw the new Deal of the Month I couldn't believe how adorable the It's A Girl set was.   Just love that little Teddy Bear and it was just perfect for this baby card.  I used one of the MS punch around the page punches for the lacy border and added some dotted green ribbon on this precious baby card.  It was very timely as 2 weeks ago we welcomed Sydney Rebecca into the world.  She is the most beautiful granddaughter in the world and so very Precious!
