Simple Jewelry with Creative Charms

When I received all the goodies in the July Deal of the Month, I couldn't help but think how several of the pretty little charms would make fabulous jewelry! And while I'm definitely not an expert jewelry maker, just about anyone could make these simple earrings:

With a small piece of 22-gauge jewelry wire, I create an earring hook and then threaded the seashells and seahorse beads from the Summer Medley collection on them, along with a few clear seed beads. I love the breezy, beachy feel of these earrings!

For this second pair, I used the Pure Blossoms in Amber, wiring them together and then attaching them to a french wire.

Finally, I created a sparkly hair barette by using three of the largest Pure Blossoms in Green, topped with a large gradient gem sticker in the center of each:

I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to secure the gems to the metal barrette. It's the perfect accessory for any little girl that loves sparkle!

Bling it Up

Doesn't every girl love a little sparkle in her life. I know I sure do. Today I thought I would show you how adding a little bling to your projects can bring them to life. Creative Charms offers several different self adhesive rhinestone gems and brads to spark your creative spirit.
Hello Card Before

Hello Card After

(Supplied Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper American Crafts, Sticker Alphas Jillibean Soup, Pink Gem Stickers Creative Charms, Ribbon Stampin Up and misc eyelet)
I simply added a bit of sparkle to the greeting. Think of how easily this idea could be translated to just about any project. You could easily add a little bling to the title of your next layout for the same effect.

Peace Out Card Before

Peace Out Card After

(Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, American Crafts Thickers, Little Yellow Bicycle Peace Accent & Pink Gem Stickers Creative Charms)
In this card I simply scattered the bling in a left to right pattern from the top of the card to the bottom. This gives the card movement and flow and of course a little sparkle too.

Hugs Card Before

Hugs Card After

(Supplies Used: Bazzill/Jillibean Soup Kraft Cardstock, American Crafts Thickers, Stamp from Stampin Up, Versafine Black Ink & Amber Gem Stickers Creative Charms)
I thought these stamped flowers needed a little some extra and the rhinestones were the perfect addition to take this super simple card from flab to fab.
Think of all the other goodies that can be blinged up with Creative Charms Gem Stickers. Like rubons and die cuts. Next time you are scrapbooking think about adding a little sparkle to your next project. Have a GREAT DAY!

Black and White Bling

Hey there!  I have a fun layout to share with you today.  I used part of my stash that I have of Creative Charms goodies.  Most you can find here in the black and white section.  Here is the layout that I created.

I used the pretty black and white flowers (I added some pink in there) to make this layout nice and frilly like her costume.  You can't see - but there is tulle under the die cut lace that I have in the layout.

On the black part of the layout I used some of the same diecut lace and added some creative charms bling  in there as well.  It is a subtle little touch that I didn't intend on making - but I love it!  May have ti try it again!

That's all I have!  This will be my last post for a bit - but it has been a pleasure working here at Creative Charms - such beautiful embellishments!  Until later!

Just one piece of embossed cardstock and some of  favorite Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon.  I topped it all off with some Gradient Gem Stickers,  a Yellow and White Sunflower and used some rub-ons for the greeting.

Retro Style

I am constantly amazed by the versitility of Creative Charms products. This layout was inspired by the these t-shirts my girls were wearing last week.
I took the centers out of the Groovy Petal Flowers from the Deal of the Month kit and replaced them with green gem stickers to create these fun retro style flowers.
I also added gradient gem stickers to the chipboard butterfly and rainbow for extra detail.
So what projects can you create using this July's Deal of the Month. There's only a week left to get your hands on this great deal!

Girlfriend Gift Purses

Sometimes you just want to do something special for your friends - spoil them with a little treat and present it beautifully.  These purse shaped bags decorated with Creative Charms bling are just the thing!

The bags were cut using the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge with the Cricut Expression electronic die cuttting machine.  I used Core'dinations gemstone cardstock.  The garnet and turquoise cardstock coordinate perfectly with the pink and blue radiant sequin flowers from Creative Charms.

The bags make cute table favors for a luncheon.  I used all three sizes of the gradient gem stickers on the handles.  These gem stickers find their way onto most of my projects lately.  They are available in so many colors, very easy to use and they stay stuck down.  If your friends have been extra good, you could fill their bags with Creative Charms embellishments!

If you'd like more details about making the gift bags and some hints for assembling and decorating them, please visit my blog, Capadia Designs.

I See Butterflies Everywhere

There's nothing I love more than Butterflies.
I love them everywhere,
and have a tendency to stick them onto everything crafty.
So when I opened my package last week and saw these emebllies I received,
I was thrilled.
I jumped up and ran to my scrap desk right away.
And put together this little beauty of a card.
Look at this gorgeous butterfly by CREATIVE CHARMS.
I have lots of plans for these little beauties.
And I see them being stuck on all my projects this month.

Card gift set with ribbons, gems and vintage brads!

Today I've put together a pretty little gift set of 4 cards.  I used a similar design on all four to tie the set together, but created them sort of in two pairs, incorporating some different elements in the focal point images.

I love this large flower stamp from Papertrey Ink, and it is just perfect for a gradient gem brad center!  I also added the fun fancy polka dot ribbon to give a finished look to the front panel (I really think I need this ribbon in every available color!) and added a little more bling to the sentiment with the gradient gem stickers.

The other pair of cards features the pretty flower grouping made up of vintage flower brads.  Again I added that adorable ribbon, this time in green, and the gradient gem stickers.

Finally a pretty little gift set needs some pretty packaging to give it in, don't you think?  So I re-purposed a plastic case that a stamp set came in (perfect for this!) and added some embellishments to coordinate with the card set:

I love that the cards are visible through the packaging, and I think that pretty little vintage butterfly brad is just the right finishing touch!

I hope you've enjoyed this project and been inspired!  Have a wonderful, crafty and creative day!

Cards with Deal of the Month!

Hi all! I'm excited to share a couple of cards I've done using the Deal of the Month goodies! Check out all the fun embellishments that come in the Deal this month:

Now for the cards:

Supplies: Core'dinations cardstock, Echo Park patterned paper, EK Success punch Icircle and border), Hero Arts stamp, Storage Unit Inks, Creative Impressions ribbon, Creative Charms Groovy Petal Medley, Pure Blossom Amber, Gradient Gem Stickers (green),

I used the Gradient gems to further embellish my loopy flower by placing then in each loop.

Supplies: Core'dinations Cardstock, Echo Park patterned paper and sticker, EK Success border punch, Martha Stewart twine, DMC Floss, Creative Charms Pure Blossoms, Brads from Deal of the Month

On my "sunshine" above noticed how I stacked two of the Pure Blossoms and then used my floss to complete the "sun"! The brads make a cute little addition along the string as well!

Sky, Sea & Surf!

Hey everyone! Today I am gearing up for what's supposed to be the hottest day of the summer yet and after a trip to the pool, I plan to settle in to the air-conditioned office and scrap. On my work table are some of the fabulous embellishments in July's Deal of the Month. The summery, beachy elements are just perfect for this time of year! They inspired me to create this simple sand-and-surf themed card with some of the goodies:

CCbonvoyage
Bon Voyage • 4.25 x 5.5 card (Creative Imaginations) + cardstock (Bazzill) + mulberry paper (DMD) + charms, jewels, flower (Creative Charms) + letters (Scenic Route) + thread

I used rows of scalloped cardstock topped with gradient gems for the sky, layered teal mulberry paper for the waves, and torn kraft cardstock for the sand. I strung the sea-themed charms on thread stitched it to each edge of the card and topped the sand with the glittering amber flowers.

Hope your Tuesday is filled with sunshine (and a little scrapping too!)

The Possibilities are Endless

Have you seen the deal of the month? It is jam packed with so many goodies the possibilities are endless. My inspiration for this kit came from the adorable teal sea shell beads. I could have used 2 dozen more beads and not just on my layout but on tons of other craft projects. My daughter would have adored a sea shell necklace or bracelet. But I was greedy and took the necklace/bracelet idea and used it straight on my layout. I stung the beads through the twine and spaced them out randomly. Then I anchored the bow with large Creative Charms Pure Blossom gemstone flower and shimmering seashells.

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper October Afternoon and Studio Calico, Stickers Studio Calico, Alphas Basic Grey, Eyelets from American Crafts, Creative Charms Rhinestone Gem Stickers, Pure Blossoms and Sea Shell Beads, Twine Jillibean Soup and font Traveling Typewriter downloaded from the Internet)

When I scrapbook I try to think in layers. I always start with a cardstock base (that gets all covered up) then I layer patterned papers and photos and so on .... In this layout I not only layered all those elements but the embellishments as well. Notice how I layered the adhesive rhinestones in the center of the gem flowers. Layering the different colors allowed my gem flowers to really jump off my page.

Happy scrapping, enjoy the deal of the month and get layering .... Summer :)
