Refreshment?

Alrighty, it's the end of the month. I don't know about you, but I'm so ready for July to be over before it even starts. It's so stinkin' hot and strangely humid around here for some reason. I feel clammy every time I step outside. Yuckie! My disdain for hot sticky weather is really what lead me to creating my refreshing project with the Deal of the Month. Who doesn't love a glass of ice cold home made lemonade? Ah! Whomever came up with the idea to take something tropical and sour and turn it into something sweet and refreshing is a genius! I thought this big clear paint can would serve well as a bucket for lemons ready to be squeezed at a backyard BBQ or driveway lemonade stand. It makes me want a glass right now...

I hope this project refreshes you a bit!

FUN in the sun!

Thought I would try out these great 3D Letters for a FUN project. I cut the letters on my Cricut using SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot) They were so fun to create and embellish with Creative Charms.

For the "F" I used some flowers from the June Kit of the Month along with Gradient Gems & Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon.

For my "U" I used fancy Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon, Gradient Gem Brads and a Vintage Brad to finish off the pinwheel.

The "N" features Groovy Petal Medley and finished it off with a Gradient Gem on the i.

I also do design work for SVG Cuts and if you are a SCAL or MTC (Make the cut) user you can grab the 3D Letters here.

Hope your Summer is a fun one!

Time with Dad & Get Well Wishes

Happy Tuesday!

I'm back again with some projects using the June Kit of the month.

First, I created a layout using these gorgeous felt flowers. In this month's kit, they're blue, but you can get them in more amazing colors! These flowers have beautiful stitching, so if you're sewing impaired like I am, you save your finger tips! I also took a sequin flower and punched the inside with a hole punch to fit a brad in.

Now with the scraps from this layout, I created a Get Well Card for my daughter, who had surgery recently.

I really needed an excuse to use that awesome fuzzy blue Fun butterfly! How cute is that???

Don't you just want to reach out and touch that butterfly, or is it just me? Well, I hope you've been inspired to use up that kit, or buy one if you don't already have it! Thanks for taking a peek.

Have an awesome week!

Clean & Simple Patriotic Card

Hi all!  It seems like everywhere you look in the scrapbooking industry (esp online) you see the CAS initials...CAS means Clean and Simple and it has exploded in popularity.  Inspired by all the simplicity I decided to pull out our June Deal of the Month and try my hand at at CAS card.  Isn't it amazing how sometimes doing less can be harder!?!  Here's the card I came up with today:

Photobucket

All the blingy goodness you find on this card is in the June Deal of the Month.  The little butterflies are created using pieces of the vintage jewels.  Just because it's Clean and Simple doesn't mean it can't contain unique embellishing or bright colors!  I enjoyed this venture into trying out a different style and I hope you did too!

Birthday Wishes & Wedding Bells!

Due to technical issues this post is a little late in the day but better late than never!  This was a Black & White themed wedding and the Black & white Shimmer Flowers from the Simplicity collection were the perfect accent for this layout. And now these gorgeous flowers are now on sale until July 9, 2011.  Go check out all the other Simplicity items that are on sale too!

Here is a closeup of the Shimmer flowers.  I removed the pearl brads (to be used on another card or layout) and replaced them with the White Vintage Brads to add a little more glitz

Here is a birthday card I made using the Gradient Pearl Stickers in white.  They always add just the right touch to any card or layout.  The background was embossed and edges inked and a Green & White Fancy Polka Dot ribbon was added.  The flowers were colored with copics and layered on a Spellbinder Oval Frame.  The frame was accented with the pearl stickers.

Child's Bookmark Card

Hello all my creative & charming readers and friends!
Today I wanted to show you a very quick project I made using just an ounce of the June Kit of the month. The June kit is filled with flowers, butterflies, bling, and even stackable jars that hold little tiny suprises!

My entire family LOVES to read. As a matter of fact, we get excited when we see the bookstore! I bought my oldest son Jasper one of the wireless readers tonight, and he is so excited!
Be Happy Today Bookmark Card
So I made Jonas who is 5 this sweet little bookmark card with the bear on it. He will really love it--as he loves vintage type cartoons and books! It was super easy to create using a tag card cut from the Cricut, a printed diecut, and of course bling and little gingham butterflies from the Creative Charms Kit of the Month.
Make sure you hop over to my blog to check out the other project I created!
I used the Creative Charms kit of the month to add just the right touch to this bookmark card. I think that is what I love best about Creative Charms--always the right touch to add the right amount of detail to any project!
Hop on over to the Creative Charms store before all of the kits are gone! I can't wait to see what you make with yours!

A few Creative Charms favorites...

Hi, it's Diane today - thanks for stopping by.  I was given "Designer's Choice" for my post this week so I looked around and found a few favorite items to use for my projects.

These knitted strawberries are one of my favorite items from Creative Charms.  This time of year we are eating lots of strawberries and making strawberry desserts.  This card would be perfect to send along with a pie or some jam that you make for a neighbor.

You can even place a tiny gem sticker in the center of the strawberry flower if you want to add a bit of sparkle.

The papers I use are from Cosmo Cricket, the scalloped circles are made with Spellbinders dies and the "For You" was cut with the Cricut using the Gypsy and the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge.

This is a simple little decoration for a girl's room.  I recycled an old acrylic photo frame and added some pretty papers from DCWV, a ribbon, a monogram initial cut with the Storybook Cricut cartridge and lots of gem stickers to decorate the monogram.

I am always happy to see how easy it is to transfer the gradient gem stickers to my projects and they really stay put once I place them.

These fabulous fancy felt flowers are part of the Kit of the Month for June.

I used one large flower and all three small flowers from the kit for this card.  The blue felt frame was cut with a Sizzx die, the card front layer is embossed with the "Polka Dots" Cuttlebug folder and the sentiment was cut with the "Friends Forever" Cuttlebug combo set.

These flowers are charming and they also come in other colors - be sure to check them out HERE.

Don't forget that Creative Charms is having a sale that will run through the 9th of July. ALL Simplicity items are 70% Off! Simplicity is the line of black and white embellishments (click HERE to go to the Simplicity page on the Creative Charms site).  These are great for graduation projects, weddings and anything else than needs a neutral accent.  Be sure to check these out soon - they may not last long at these prices!

Have a wonderful day!  If you would like to see more details or instructions for these projects, I will be adding posts about them to my blog, Capadia Designs, this week.

June Kit of the Month - Red, White and Blue for You!

Hi!  Happy Monday to you!!!  Sandra here with my last post on this blog as a Creative Charms designer :o(.  This has been a blast and a great experience for me. Special thanks goes out to Midori, our dynamite Creative Charms Design Team Coordinator for all of the help and encouragement.  Everyone that I have worked with on the Creative Charms design team has been fantastic and are wonderfully talented ladies.  Thanks to all of you and to all of you followers for your kind words and support!  As for the Creative Charms product - I have loved everything that I have had the opportunity to work with and I know that I will continue to purchase Creative Charms products for my projects!

I am not sure if I did not want this experience to come to an end or there are just so many great embellishments in the June Kit of the Month but I just kept creating projects!  I have three to share with you today on my farewell blog post.

The first is a quick gift card holder that I created for my son to give to the principal on the last day of school.

Inside (which I forgot to take a picture of) is a pocket on the left for a gift card and a place for a handwritten message on the right.  I used three of the little Red Itsy Glitsy flowers from the kit to enhance the scrollwork on the stamped image.

The next card is a Thinking of you card.  I am going to make several more cards with different sentiments and donate them to our troops.  God Bless our Troops!

For the front of the card I used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut two rectangles that I made into a frame and the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge to cut out the grass and drew in stems for the flowers.  I used various flowers from the kit to create three layered flowers.  I also used three of the Red Itsy Glitsy  flowers from the kit - two in the grass and one on the butterfly.  The frame and the butterfly are popped!

I left the inside of the card blank for a personal message or letter.

My final project that I would like to share is a double page layout.  I typically do not do this, but I created a layout for pictures that I have not yet taken.  Every year we have a 4th of July party and when I saw this line of paper from Reminisce I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  I prepared a fireworks layout ready for photos!

I loved the fireworks sticker sheet but wanted to add some bling to them so I cut each loop of three braided daisies, used Diamond Stickles (on the red daisy) and Navy Blue Stickles (on the blue daisies) to bling them up and used a glue dot to adhere the transformed daisies to the centers of each firework sticker!

A closer look at the fireworks.

It is not too late for you to order June Kit of the Month - Red, White & Blue for You and a lot of other great embellishments at www.creativecharms.com!

In honor of my last blog post and of the upcoming 4th of July I am giving away some Red, White and Blue goodies on my blog www.scrappinmomof1.blogspot.com

Thanks for looking and make it a great day!

You Make Me Happy

Happy Friday everyone!

Lisa here.  So glad you could stop by.  I wanted to share a card I created today using some yummy Creative Charms goodies.

I love having these type of cards on hand.  They are perfect for including with a package that I am sending to friends or family, as a card for a dear friend I miss or to give to my girls.  I love creating cards that have a bit of a vintage feel.  Creative Charms has so many products that are perfect for this kind of card.  These soft pink papers along with a bit of antique linen ink from Ranger and some lace helped give the card the vintage feel.  After creating the base and using my sewing machine to stitch the papers together, I added the lace and sentiment sticker.  If  you stop there the card is fine but it is the Creative Charms products that really give the card an extra pop.  I added a cluster of Sparkled Flowers in the lower left corner. One of the butterflies from the Blooming Garden gives the card that pop of pink and the pearls add a bit of class to the sentiment sticker.

Looking for other vintage themed products?  Check out the great selection here

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Red White & Blue

This month I had so much fun playing with the June Kit of the Month - $14.99 (73+ Pieces).

I made a Scrapbook page to capture our trip to the Memorial Day Parade. We love going to the parade every year and enjoy spending time with friends of our family.

Here are a few closeups:

Along with the Creative Charms also used elements I cut on the Cricut using SCAL and SVG Cuts files. Check out my blog for the details. Papers are from DCWV The Green Stack and solids are AC Cardstock.

I also made this Uncle Sam Hat. The top pulls off and works perfect for goodies inside. It is from the SVG Cuts Made In The USA SVG Kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunshine

Hello! Laura Evangeline here again to share with you a super fun card focusing on one of my favorite Creative Charms products: Gradient Gem Stickers. I used up a ton of my gem stickers on other projects here and there, but I noticed that I had a ton left over on a few sheets. I didn't know what to do with them, so I came up with this...

I hope you like it!
