Some Favorite Charms...

Hi, it's Diane today with some soft and pretty cards to share with you. I thought I'd highlight a few of my favorite items for you today.

Some of the first Creative Charms items that I ever used were these 3D Sparkly Garden Brads with the tiny butterfly brads and floral gems.  They are a "go to" item when I need a bit of sparkle or whimsy on a project.

The Flared Flowers are another favorite - the iridescent centers add so much sparkle and always make me smile!  This card is a "just because" card and would be nice to send to a crafting friend.

Did you know that the Vintage Poppies come in fourteen different colors?

They arrive with a pearl brad in the center but I often switch these out and substitute a Vintage Jewel Brad or a Gradient Gem Brad if I want to add more color and sparkle.

The Gradient Gem Stickers are always useful as accents or to replace the missing dots for your "i"s if you use a small die cut sentiment - I don't know about you but those dots seem to have a way of escaping from me!

If you'd like any more details about these cards, you can find them on my personal blog, Capadia Designs.

Don't miss the special offer this week - all remaining Deals of the Month and Kits of the Month are an additional 10% off this week only. Birthdays and Butterflies!

I am so in love with these adorable Butterflies from the 3-D Sparkly Garden Brads from the Deal of the Month.  They add just a little bit of whimsy to this card.  I also used the Orange Fancy Felt Flowers on the stamped leaves and the Purple Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon as an accent on this card.  I love this embossing folder for this card because it provides the perfect backdrop for the inset.

This center fold step card was such fun to make.  I love cards that are unique and different.  I also used the 3-D Butterfly on this card but this time in the green and  included the Sparkly Floral gems from the 3D Sparkly Garden Brad collection.  The same stamp was used for the stem on this card.

Cosmo Cricket Week

Hi, it's Diane and I am excited to tell you about a new feature on the Creative Charms blog.  This week several Design Team members will be sharing projects that we made combining Creative Charms with Cosmo Cricket paper lines.  Each month we will feature different paper lines and show you how they work with Creative Charms embellishments.  I was sent papers, chipboard and stickers from the Cosmo Cricket "DeLovely" line for this month.

The DeLovely papers are bright and cheerful in shades of pink, yellow, green and teal blue.  As a Cole Porter fan, I enjoyed the clever way each paper has a "De" name.

The papers are all two sided and there is a reminder to look at the other side printed along the bottom of each sheet!  It is sometimes difficult to choose between the two sides but if you are making cards you can use both (or just buy more paper...).

I had a lot of fun looking through my Creative Charms stash for items to compliment the papers - it was great to find some near perfect matches.  For today's cards I did not use the Cricut - just the papers and embellishments and some solid colored cardstock for the card bases.  All of the cards I made are A2 size.

One of the paper in the collection has borders and another has elements that can be cut up for sentiments and titles.  "Capture the Moment" works perfectly with these green butterfly brads from the 3D Sparkly Garden Brads set.

The butterfly color matches the brighter green used in many of the papers in the line.  They also work with this sentiment particularly well - reminding us to enjoy the special moments in our days (when we see something lovely like a butterfly).

For the next card  I used a few more paper elements along with this adorable turtle chipboard sticker.  I smile every time I look at the turtle!

The flower element has these cute faces but I didn't want so many faces on the card so I used some Pure Blossom flower gems, along with flowers from the Seasonal Medleys and Gradient Gem Stickers for the centers.

The blinged out flowers add a  lot of sparkle to the card.

This simple card combines the stylized rose chipboard stickers with the coordinating paper and a sticker from the collection.  A few Gradient Gem Stickers added to the roses and the points of the label add interest and sparkle.

I layered the chipboard stickers to create more dimension and interest.

The little bird on this paper element has a sweet expression and the sentiment is yet another echo of the "lovely"' theme.

I added some daisies from the Seasonal Medleys and placed a large gradient gem sticker on the yellow centers for more sparkle.

Clear gem sticker centers on two sparkle buttons that I had left from the September Deal of the Month (girl) highlight the large flowers in the background paper at the top of the card.

For the next card, I cut off a section of three circles from one of the border strips and added a pink flower from the Groovy Petal Medley to the center circle.

For the top and bottom circles I added a flower brad (also left from my September Deal of the Month package).

A small gradient gem sticker in the center of each flower adds more interest.

More small gradient gem stickers in alternating shades of pink balance the sparkle on both sides of the card.

This cute caterpillar would put a smile on anyone's face.  It is fun to work with so many different paper patterns and find that you almost can't go wrong as you combine them in your projects.

I used the "Bloom" element and added some more flower brads and gem stickers.

Finally, here are two medallion cards that are enhanced with a gem brad and gem stickers.  The medallions are punched with the Martha Stewart "Cherish" Punch Around the Page set.

I hope you enjoyed these simple cards.  I had a great time just trying different paper and embellishment combinations and I know that I can make many more cards (and some other projects) with this collection.  I'll be posting these soon on my personal blog, Capadia Designs.

CHA peek 3! - pink!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Creative Charms will be releasing a special embellishment kit. It's full of lovely pink things that are sure to make you smile!

I made two projects with this little embellishment kit... first, a jeweled heart love frame.

I used the pink gradient gem stickers on the chipboard heart that I had at home. Simply cover your favorite chipboard shape with the little gems and adhere to the outside of the frame. Place patterned paper on the inside of the small frame. Add a rubon if desired.

Next, I used this special set to make a card.

I used the light pink gem brads, a pink 3d butterfly brad and a few radiant sequin flowers.
One of my favorite things to do with the radiant sequin flowers is to layer them with other flowers, as you can see on this card. Also, the gem stickers from the kit make a fun little flight path for the butterfly.

Have a happy day!, Charity

Think Pink: CHA Sneak Peek

I'm so excited to be able to give you a glimpse of this great collection of Creative Charms products! This pink kit is going to be a special deal available next October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

When I found out I would get to work with this kit, I immediately knew that I would create something with it as a gift to my friend Chris Hertel, who has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer over the past year. Many of you know her work from her blog, as well as from Creative Charms because she is also a contributor here! She has such an amazing, positive attitude, so when I saw this quote, I knew it was perfect for my project:

The pink kit includes the pink gradient gems that I used to dress up my die-cut letters. I love that the gradient gem packs include an assortment of sizes and colors - I used three of the clear gems to accent the scalloped border at the bottom. The kit also includes the pink gem brads that I used as the centers of my floral elements.

Naturally, I also made a card to go with the gift:

That beautiful pink flower is part of the kit, as is the cute little pink butterfly brad.

And of course, there are the gradient gems again! They really make it so easy to dress up a sweet little card.

I hope you enjoy and are inspired!

Here Comes the Bride!

Wedding season is just around the corner and who doesn't love a wedding.  The beautiful bride and the handsome groom and all the time spent planning the perfect day.  I thought I would start with a Wedding Card.  I used one of my favorite embellishments from Creative Charms, the Shimmer Flowers in the Black and Green.  I also added the Vintage Brads both of which are included in the "Deal of the Month" for May.  I also included a layout once again using the Shimmer Flowers in the Green and White along with the Gem Garden flowers to accent the center of the flowers on the bottom.
