FUN in the sun!

Thought I would try out these great 3D Letters for a FUN project. I cut the letters on my Cricut using SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot) They were so fun to create and embellish with Creative Charms.

For the "F" I used some flowers from the June Kit of the Month along with Gradient Gems & Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon.

For my "U" I used fancy Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon, Gradient Gem Brads and a Vintage Brad to finish off the pinwheel.

The "N" features Groovy Petal Medley and finished it off with a Gradient Gem on the i.

I also do design work for SVG Cuts and if you are a SCAL or MTC (Make the cut) user you can grab the 3D Letters here.

Hope your Summer is a fun one!

September Deal of the Month ... fresh ideas

Good Morning Everyone Summer here with another look at the September Deal of the month. I don't know if you realized but there are 2 themed deals this month ... BOY & GIRL. I received the boy themed kit to play with. I challenged myself to do something a little unexpected with some of the embellishments. Here are 3 cards with some fresh ideas ...

(Supplies Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper Cosmo Cricket, Punch/Scissors Fiskars, Alphas American Crafts, It's A Boy Felts/Epoxy Brads Creative Charms, Gem Stickers Creative Charms)

The felt boat accent is from the "It's a Boy" set. I love the idea of taking this from something "baby" to a whole new level. Then I sprinkled some additional gems around the card just like I showed you in my "Bling it Up" post from July.

(Supplied Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper Cosmo Cricket, Alphas Basic Grey, DMC Embroidery Floss Black, Yellow Fuzzy Ducks from Creative Charms)

This card is super simple. I simply added french knots for eyes and pop dotted the ducks on my card. This card follows the rule of 3's I tend to subconsciously follow when I scrapbook or make cards. First I tend to embellish in 3's (or odd numbers) and second I weighted the design elements to the bottom third of the card. This could easily be repeated with any element and greeting.

(Supplied Used: Cardstock Bazzill, Patterned Paper from Cosmo Cricket, Pinking Sheers IKEA, Alphas from October Afternoon/Basic Grey, Gem Stickers Creative Charms, Playtime Boy Felts & Epoxy Stickers)

This is my favorite card from the group. I like the idea of using this card for a 16th birthday or changing out the greeting to say "Congratulations", the card would be perfect for the new driver in your life. Notice how I used the gem stickers in all the sizes this gives the card flow and interest.

I hope you have a great Wednesday. Happy Crafting :)

The Deconstructed Embellishment

Have you ever looked at your stash of embellishments and thought ... "nothing I have is working" ... why not take your existing embellishments to a new level. This simple card uses 3 different Creative Charm Embellishments in a new way.

Did you know the Shimmer Flowers can be taken apart? The white flowers and the dimensional scalloped border were created from deconstructing the Shimmer Flower.

The Sparkled Butterflies can add a wonderful touch to any card or layout. I took my butterfly to a new level by misting it. Originally the butterfly was a light green to make it pop more off the card I simply misted it with green. Once you mist the embellishment simply white the excess ink from the metal with a tissue then adhere with your favorite adhesive.

The final deconstructed embellishment on this card is the White Floral Gems, essentially these are beads. I turned these gems into flowers by adding craft wire. Wrap the wire around a kitchen skewer for that prefect springy look.

Thanks for stopping by :) Summer
