"My Heart's Desire" Candle Jar Decor

Hi Everyone!
True :D here.

Being a card maker, I have a tendency to use smaller embellishments but every now and then, I break away from the ordinary.
I used some larger pieces form this month's Creative Charms Kit of The Month to decorate this candle jar up for Valentine's Day.

The kit is called "My Heart's Desire" and it has lots of fun things to play with!

Here are some of my latest cards using Creative Charms...
I used a Pink Vintage Pearl Brad, which is also in the January Kit of the Month, on the first two cards.
This image is from Inky Antics.

This image is one of my digis called "Love You BeeCause"

On this one I used some Pink Gradient Pearl Stickers.
The image is one of my illustrations that I donated to help raise money for a fellow crafter.

This one used some Gradient Gems that started out clear but I colored them with Copic markers to color match perfectly. One of my favorite tricks!  :)
The image is from Lily of the Valley.

This card uses Gradient White Pearl Stickers and an Inky Antics image.

Thanks for taking the time to have a peek.
If you would like to see more pictures or get all of the details for any of the cards above, just click on the picture to be taken to that post. ;)

Hugs,

My Sweetie Pie and My Hearts Desire!

Hi! Sandra here to talk about the January Kit of the Month - My Heart's Desire. I love this kit and I was thrilled when it arrived in the mail! I laid it all out on my scrappin' table and the wheels started turning...

Here are two quick cards that I made using a few of goodies from the kit.

For the card on the left I used the teardrop shaped
Vintage Jewels - PINK and Vintage Jewels - RED & WHITE (I just used the clear) to create three hearts at the bottom of the card and of course I had to use some Gradient Gem Stickers - BLACK & WHITE (again, the clear - NOT INCLUDED IN THE KIT).

For the card on the right I used the
Red & White Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon near the bottom of the card and one Red & White Fancy Polka Dot Brad. I placed a round sparkly sticker (from my stash) on top of the big brad.

I also created a 2 page layout featuring my Sweetie Pie! The pics are from Valentine's Day 2010 and I just loved my little guy's excitement and expressions in the pics. He is so much fun!!!

I love the Vintage Poppies with Pearl Brads - RED (and all of the other great colors too) but I did not think that flowers went with a layout of my son so I looked at the flowers and I saw hearts. Each petal of the Velvet Poppy looked like a heart to me so I just took out the pearl center and cut each petal apart. I actually cut only the large poppies from two packs of the Vintage Poppies with Pearl Brads - RED. (Only on pack is included in the kit. You could use the small poppies too from the kit and then you would only need on pack.) I used the once poppy petals, now hearts, along with the Velvet Ric Rac - RED from the kit to create the border that spans the bottom of the entire layout and three of the petal hearts at the top of the right hand page. I also used the three puffy hearts from the kit just above the title - these hearts have white polka dots on the other side but I chose to use the plain red side.

If you did not get this kit yet, you will want to get it as soon as possible! I still have a lot of goodies left from this kit to create more fun stuff!

Thanks for looking and make it a great day! :o)

January Kit of the Month Fun!!!

Hello everyone! Happy first Tuesday of 2011!!! I know we just finished Christmas...but once I received the Kit of the Month for January "My Hearts Desire" I was REALLY inspired to throw a Valentine's twist on my projects!!! This kit really is sooo versatile...let me show you what I did with it!

First up is a layout when we took my daughter to the American Girl doll store...not a Valentine's theme but the embellishments/colors were perfect for what I wanted to scrap!

Love the red vintage brads...after stitching through the banner I added them for a bit of sparkle!

And how fun are the little polka dot puffed hearts!!! These are such fav of mine...they would be adorable as a mini banner too!!! Grab them while they are still available!!!

and you can never go wrong with the Fancy Red and White Polka Dot Ribbon...I have used this on so many layouts and simply love it!!!

Next up are a couple of cards using the KOTM for January...

This is a twist on a Valentine's Day card...I loved the colors from the Dear Lizzy Enchanted Line and the Brown and White Polka Dot Ribbon as well as the Pink Vintage Jewels from the KOTM added nice sparkle and color.

And before I go I had to share a card I created when we did the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker product swap! Using the same KOTM for the projects above I created a holiday card. Super versatile kit like I said!!!

The Red Velvet Ric-Rac Ribbon was perfect for embellishing the tree...add a few Gradient Jewels and top it off with a Red Velvet Poppy!!!

That is all for me today!!! Make sure you pick this kit up...it will be perfect for so many of your upcoming layouts, cards or altered projects!!!
