Clean & Simple Patriotic Card

Hi all!  It seems like everywhere you look in the scrapbooking industry (esp online) you see the CAS initials...CAS means Clean and Simple and it has exploded in popularity.  Inspired by all the simplicity I decided to pull out our June Deal of the Month and try my hand at at CAS card.  Isn't it amazing how sometimes doing less can be harder!?!  Here's the card I came up with today:



All the blingy goodness you find on this card is in the June Deal of the Month.  The little butterflies are created using pieces of the vintage jewels.  Just because it's Clean and Simple doesn't mean it can't contain unique embellishing or bright colors!  I enjoyed this venture into trying out a different style and I hope you did too!

Super Sweet Red White & Blue

Hi everyone! I'm super happy to be here with you today at the fabulous Creative Charms blog! I wait eagerly each month for my kit and deal of the month. I love to be surprised with a neat little bag filled with goodies! This month was no exception...both kit and deal are super CUTE!!!

I am using the Deal of the Month: Patriotic Burst! today on my very simple layout and card, along with paper from Nikki Sivils Blueberry Summer Line. I love how Nikki's papers match so nicely with Creative Charms embellishments; a perfect sweet marriage in my book!
I used the big and I mean BIG polka dot brad to center kiss the middle of a little starburst and then topped it with the vintage charm bling, and the beautiful red swiss dot scallop ribbon...all from the Deal of the Month; I especially loved using the gradient gems to highlight the little blueberry border.

I also made a matching card as I was just having a grand time using all of my red white and blue goodies! I think my favorite part of using Creative Charms is that I always have the perfect accent to top off my project; the red butterfly was the perfect touch to the bow!
