Special Flowers for Special Cards

Hi, it's Diane today and I have a couple of cards to share with you.  These cards feature some of the beautiful and unusual flowers available from Creative Charms.

This is a blue Multi-layered Organza Flower - these flowers are so lovely and shimmery.  I thought the center pearl was a bit small for my card design, so I snipped the thread that holds it and added a larger white pearl Gradient Gem Sticker.

I also added medium pearl gem stickers and clear gem stickers to the outer points and some small gem stickers to some of the intersecting lines in the center section of the blue flower.  I designed this lacy flower shape with the Calligraphy Collection Cricut cartridge.

This baby card has a nostalgic pink chenille flower from the Fuzzy Daisy Kit.  Something about chenille just gives me a warm cozy feel!

The daisy comes with a polka dot center.  I decided to change this out for a large pink butterfly brad from the pink Blooming Garden collection.

A strip of pink Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon finishes the top of the card.

The sentiment was cut with the Cuttlebug Welcome Baby Combo Set.  The dotted paper is from the Cricut Imagine More Cards cartridge - I printed a full 12 x 12 sheet and trimmed it for the card.

If you would like more details and directions for making these cards, you'll find them on my personal blog, Capadia Designs.  Take a look around the Creative Charms website to see lots of other beautiful and unusual flowers that will make great focal points for your cards and projects.

Cricut Fun with the June Deal of the Month

Happy Thursday!  This is Diane (aka Capadia) from the Design Team and I am having so much fun with my Cricut and the Creative Charms "Deal of the Month" for June.  These embellishments are perfect for all sorts of Cricut projects.  Here are just a few...

For this friendship card, I used one of the red jumbo polka dot brads and the red & white fancy polka dot ribbon.  I sized the flower cuts from the Sweet Treats cartridge to make the center the same size as the brad.

Two of the second darkest shade of red gradient gem stickers accent the dots on the "i"s in "missing" on the Cricut cut from the Stamping cartridge.

This tasty card features one of the yummy cakes in the sweet tooth felt sticker and epoxy brad set.  The Cricut cuts are from the Sweet Treats cartridge.

The cake is sitting on a scalloped circle of pink glitter cardstock and is raised with foam squares.

This simple project uses a $1 visor from the craft store and the spring bouquet felt garden medley from the June Deal of the Month.  The word "sweet" is cut from the Paisley Cricut Cartridge in red vinyl to adhere easily to the foam.

There are so many items in the June deal - I'll be busy making Cricut projects with them for the rest of the month!

Details on the Cricut cuts and some helpful tips for making these projects can be found on my blog, Capadia Designs, at THIS POST.

It's Summertime!

Hey everyone! Lisa Dickinson here, excited that it's officially June and summer has arrived! This time of year I always end up taking tons of photos and they are some of my favorites to scrap. And do you know what goes perfectly with summer photos? All the cute items in June's Deal of the Month! This set of embellishments (151 pieces total) is a steal at $6.99! As an ode to my favorite things about summer, I created a page with some of the goodies:

Summertimefaves
cardstock (Bazzill Basics) + letter stickers (Jenni Bowlin Studio) + stamp (Studio Calico) + felt, jewels, brads (Creative Charms)

I used three cardstock circles as a "home" for each cluster of accents: the vibrant felt butterfly, strawberry, and flowers, the rhinestone gems & brads, and those lovely red polka dot brads (my very favorite item in this kit!).

So enjoy your summer and don't forget to squeeze in a bit of time for scrapping, ok?
