Picture Perfect!

Hi everyone!

During the summer there are always activities out there to present photo ops. Even if there isn't anything special going on, a cute summer outfit can bring on an impromptu photo shoot! (Especially if your child's such a ham, like mine!)

July's Deal of the Month has pretty embellies to play up a summery layout. The pretty colors, the flowers, the BUTTERFLIES!!! Oh, and we can't forget the BLING. This kit+cute summery photos= a perfectly cute layout! Take a look:

I have to apologize for how dark it looks, no matter how different I take the pix, it comes out the same.

I am in love with these pretty butterfly brads. they add dimension in an unexpected way. they're packaged with matching flower gems that can be used with the butterflies or you can save them for something else!

Can we just say "Oh fabulous bling!" These gradiated gems are something I love adding to most everything.

blingy gradiated gem brads are another fabulous way to add more shine!

last but not least, these Groovy Petals flower brads are totally adorable. the best part: you can take them apart! I took a big flower off one of the brads and added it to the back of a smaller one for a layered effect.

Don't forget to tote the camera along as you're running out to do your fave summer activities. You never know what project a cute photo and these adorable products can produce!!!

Have Fun!!!

Something Fishy & Fun!!!

Hi everyone! I'ts time for my Creative Charms project using the Deal of the Month: Summer Time    . This is a super cute set this month--I was SO happy to work with it since it's perfect for all of my bright fun summer projects!!! It also matches my newest stamp set release Splashtastic Summer! eeek! My heart be still! Soooo much fun!!! You know there is a GREAT giveway--so get ready!!!

Here is a quick peek at the Deal of the Month: Summer Time! It is 6.99 this month only and retails for 25! They sell out every single month--so I'm so happy I'm posting about them so early in the month, so you girls have a chance to get them!!!

Now here is my super duper cute and I mean QUICK cards created using the Summer Time Deal of the Month! Both cards took me 30 minutes to put together (just my style--cute and easy!)
First please let me apologize in advance for the lighting and quality of my photos--if I wasn't such a NIGHT OWL--I would have better lighting--but I'll take these photos again in the daylight--and pop them up--so "bare" with me!

Fishing You Were Here by K Andrew
Supplies: Summer Time DOM (Creative Charms), Papers/Diecuts Summertime Splash (Echo Park at Flying Unicorn),
Fishing You Were Here sentiment stamp: Splashtastic Summer (K Andrew Designs Art Stamps), Ribbon: Offray, Target $1 spot

How cute and quick is that card? The BEST part? I love to make stick pins and the beads that are on the stick pin came in my deal of the month--they are filled with these blue irridescent ocean themed beads--and the Shell at the top is a Sequin Bead--so it actually fits right thru the pin bottom! eeek! EASY peasy!!!!
The orange flower is soooo cute because it's jelly/plastic like and then the yellow loopy braid flower fits right on top with it--then I just added bling to the fish eyes! heheheeeh

You are FINtastic by K Andrew
Supplies: Deal of the Month: Summer Time (Creative Charms), Papers Splash Summer (Echo Park at the Flying Unicorn), and Splashtastic Summer stamp set (K Andrew Designs)

Again I used the beads and sequin shells to dress up my decorative stick pins! eeek isn't that soooo cute! This time I used the PINK clams shells and the blue fish beads!

Okay now you have been soooo sweet and patient my friends, that I have an AWESOME treat for one of you!!!

Simple Jewelry with Creative Charms

When I received all the goodies in the July Deal of the Month, I couldn't help but think how several of the pretty little charms would make fabulous jewelry! And while I'm definitely not an expert jewelry maker, just about anyone could make these simple earrings:

With a small piece of 22-gauge jewelry wire, I create an earring hook and then threaded the seashells and seahorse beads from the Summer Medley collection on them, along with a few clear seed beads. I love the breezy, beachy feel of these earrings!

For this second pair, I used the Pure Blossoms in Amber, wiring them together and then attaching them to a french wire.

Finally, I created a sparkly hair barette by using three of the largest Pure Blossoms in Green, topped with a large gradient gem sticker in the center of each:

I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to secure the gems to the metal barrette. It's the perfect accessory for any little girl that loves sparkle!

Sky, Sea & Surf!

Hey everyone! Today I am gearing up for what's supposed to be the hottest day of the summer yet and after a trip to the pool, I plan to settle in to the air-conditioned office and scrap. On my work table are some of the fabulous embellishments in July's Deal of the Month. The summery, beachy elements are just perfect for this time of year! They inspired me to create this simple sand-and-surf themed card with some of the goodies:

CCbonvoyage
Bon Voyage • 4.25 x 5.5 card (Creative Imaginations) + cardstock (Bazzill) + mulberry paper (DMD) + charms, jewels, flower (Creative Charms) + letters (Scenic Route) + thread

I used rows of scalloped cardstock topped with gradient gems for the sky, layered teal mulberry paper for the waves, and torn kraft cardstock for the sand. I strung the sea-themed charms on thread stitched it to each edge of the card and topped the sand with the glittering amber flowers.

Hope your Tuesday is filled with sunshine (and a little scrapping too!)

July Deal of the Month - Sweet and Sassy!

Hi, it's Diane today with a project that makes use of something you may not normally think of using.  When the July Deal of the Month arrived at my house a few days ago I was intrigued by the transparent orange and green flowers - and the board they came on!

There is a lovely sparkly handle on the purse shape card and I immediately thought that it would be fun to alter to make a door hanger for a girl's room.  Depending on her mood she can turn it to the "sweet" or the "sassy" side.

For the "sweet side, I used the green and white fancy polka dot ribbon along with some of the flowers from the string flower groovy petal medley in orange and the soft flowers from the spring medley - orange.  The paper for the background is from the DCWV Citrus stack and the word is cut from the Cricut Paisley cartridge at 1 1/2 inches in yellow glitter cardstock with the word blackout in orange.

On the "sassy" side, I used the orange and green flowers, with  lots of extra bling from the green gradient jewels.  The paper for the background is also from the DCWV Citrus stack and the word is cut from the Cricut Paisley cartridge at 1 1/2 inches in orange glitter cardstock with the word blackout in yellow.

These flowers are so unusual and they certainly add a lot of pizazz to a project.

If you'd like step by step directions for making this project you can find them on my blog, Capadia Designs - here is a LINK to the post.
