I heart CC & MLS!

I was thrilled when i received my goodie package this month.
Im a huge fan of My Little Shoebox, and was excited to see "The Simple Life"
collection in with my gorgeous Creative Charms goodies.
It's funny, because I'm such a city girl.... and don't go anywhere near the farm.
But these papers and elements were sooo darling.
So the first thing I did was make a couple of cards.

Now, Christmas is fast approaching,
and I am nowhere near completing my cards this year.
(that's the bad thing about being a card-maker, everyone expects a handmade card...LOL)

Sio I decided to turn these summery papers into some fabulous Christmas cards.

When I saw this little truck in the paper, i cut him out right away,
and added ranger pearl paint to the top of him
to look like he'd been covered in snow.
I also sprinkled a little dusting of glitter to him as well.

I hand cut a very round tree into a more triangular shape,
and decorated it with gems and a fabulous star bead from Creative Charms.

I really love the way it turned out.
Good bye- Summer, Hello Winter!

Can you believe these papers are from the same line?
That's right.... by adding a little glitter around the design in the paper,
and some beautiful CC gems to the scallops,
this card definitely looks a lot like Christmas.

And I had to make a layout.
All these gorgeous papers needed to make their way into at least one album.
I found these photos of Oakley at a local farm, he was panning for treasure.
Perfect for these papers.
I used the negative space of the chipboard letters to create the title.
I added a crackle medium to them, let them dry, and then painted over top of them.
I also backed them with the co-ordinating paper.
It really makes for a title that pops!

I love this new product from CC.
The "Make it Yours" Charms
I simply punched out a circle of the cute MLS papers,
and i had my own custom embellie.
I cut out some chipboard circles , wrapped them in yarn,
drenched them in brown paint and added them around the charms..
to really bring your eye to them.

I hope this post gave you a few ideas, and maybe will help you think outside the box when making those holiday cards!
