We're Back from CHA

Wow, what a trip. We'd like to thank all of the store owners who placed their orders on Sunday at the show. It was great seeing so many friends.

I also have a quick layout to share. I used Pink Paislee paper along with the Creative Charms Blooming Garden (SB-2010) pink felt butterfly sticker. As you can see, they are generous in size. I love felt, and these are just gorgeous.

Spring has Sprung!!

And what better way to celebrate than with these gorgeous butterflies from our Dream Garden collection.

I've just redecorated my craft room and I'm always looking for thrifty ways to decorate. I decided to make a whimsical wall hanging using the butterflies. I found a 4x6 frame at a discount store and painted it black. I took the glass out and replaced the backing with a really pretty piece of Webster's Pages paper. It goes perfectly with the Creative Charms butterflies. I distressed the paper a bit with some ink, then I used pop dots on the butterflies and adhered them to the paper. I placed it in the frame and now have a gorgeous wall hanging.





These embellishments are so versatile! I can't get enough. I also used them when I made this little friend tag booklet to give to a friend for her birthday.



On the cover I used 2 of our Itsy-Glizy gem embellishments plus I used 3 of Creative Charms Antique White Pearls. They come in "gradient" sizes, and these tiny ones were perfect for the cover.

On the inside, more gems from our Gem Stickers and more pearls. I even used a black gem for the eye on the bird. Another Dream Garden butterfly on the third page down, this time in white. The Creative Charms Dream Garden butterflies also come in light blue.

Vintage Velvet

I am in love with these vintage velvet flowers! They are so versatile! I recently did a scrapbook page using a red vintage velvet flower and I paired it with a paper flower. The paper flower was ho-hum, but once I added the Creative Charms vintage velvet flower it really sprung to life.

Also used in this layout are the Creative Charms Gem Stickers in Black. I used them right at the top above the yellow background flower. They are "Gradient" and come in sizes of 6, 5 and 3 mm. You get 76 gems!! Love these!!

Quick & Easy Spring BookMark

It's 5 pm and I needed to catch the 6:30 FedEx guy for a express package to my family oversea. I thought I could not send just a letter and should put some photos of my daughter too. Another thought followed: I could not just put a photo in the envelope and that's no presentation. So I went thru my stashes of photos frames and 30 minutes later I could not find a right sized frame. Thus, I dig in my scrapbooking stash and there is a solution.
I made this quick & easy spring bookmark with our new min Dream Garden sparkled butterfly and Countryside butterfly and some bling. The embellishment itself is so intricate and elaborate that I could get away with zero papercraft techniques.

It's so quick that I could make 8 of them. That will be enough for my realtives who all adored and spoiled my 4 year old daughter during our visit last year.

What's New!

Creative Charms has been very busy behind the scenes. We've added so many new products to our line of embellishments.

One of my favorites (and believe me I have many!), are these Blooming Garden felt stickers and brads. They also come in pink! So cute. They are part of our Spring Bouquet line.



Another one of my favorites, also a part of Creative Charms Spring Bouquet line, are these fancy felt flowers. Aren't they gorgeous???

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear!

I just love working with the great assortment of embellishments Creative Charms has to offer. At first glance, you might think it's all about beautiful flowers and bling.... but every time I look through the catalog, I seem to find something else just screaming for me to try it on a project! These adorable fuzzy teddy bears were just perfect for a recent project. I created a "Dad's Brag Book" for my cousin to celebrate the birth of his son Wesley William Wood. I wanted it to be boyish, yet not done in the traditional baby blue color palette. I decided on manly plaids, browns, camo trims, leather.... but added the fuzzy whimsical touch of Creative Charms bears. Nick has been having fun filling it with photos of the "little man" and sharing it at his workplace.

While I was in the mood for masculine projects... I found the perfect project for some of Creative Charm's adorable camouflage ducks! This envelope book was my husband's Father's Day "card" - each pocket held a verse/poem about Fatherhood, and personal messages from our boys. These little camo ducks blended perfectly with the brown cardstock, plaid paper, burlap and bamboo clips to create a gift my husband truly treasures.
