A Little Birdie Told Me...

The sun is shining today and I saw my first sign of Spring even though it doesn't officially start until the weekend!  Looking out the window of my workshop there was a robin sitting in the crab apple tree in my front yard.  Such a welcome sign!  Here is a little basket I made to welcome Spring decorated with the Sparkled Flowers and Sparkled Butterflies collection from Creative Charms.  The Dream Garden Dream Brads inside the basket must have attracted a visitor.  If you look closely you will see a little birdie peeking out of the basket guarding her egg!  Happy Spring!

Hippity Hoppity Easter Layout

Spring is my favorite season. I love when the trees start to bloom and the flowers come up. In western Pennsylvania it is a beautiful thing! This will be a great spring especially after all this snow and cold weather.

I had so much fun doing this layout featuring the Creative Charms Easter Kit. The butterfly & egg brads are so cute. I used the floral gems to accent my corners. Love the variety of the larger flowers and the bunny with the gem is the perfect touch. The ribbon was a perfect match to my papers.

I used Bo Bunny for the green background, the stitched paper is Lollia and used some pink and purple card stock. I covered a chipboard circle with the above papers plus Easter Stripes & Chicks by Best Creation.

Thanks for taking a look!

Spring Blooming Garden

Let's celebrate the fact that Spring is right around the corner.  What better way than to feature this adorable butterfly.  For this card I used a technique called the Folded Frame Technique.  I love the colors in this CS from the BoBunny called Abbey Road and Abbey Road Vine from A Gift of Love collection and it went so well with the Blue Blooming Garden butterfly.  I also added a flower from the Gem Garden collection for a little glitz.  Happy Spring!!

Love makes a house a home...

Welcome March! And with that comes the hint of Spring, clear skies, green grass, birds chirping, and flowers blooming. It's also the perfect time of year to create Spring projects to brighten up your home and let the sunshine in! I had an idea for this project after finding this adorable little wooden birdhouse at my local craft store and then the project basically created itself. I started with a wooden 3 1/2 inch block, decopaged some papers to all the sides, added a white picket fence and all those wonderfully, sweet embellishments like the giant sparkled butterfly, (which landed on the roof), sequin flowers, sparkled flowers, gem stickers and floral gems. The top was made by adding moss, the birdhouse, a teeny red cardinel, floral gems and of course, the butterfly. For the tag, I simply added a rub-on and adhered the tag to the side of the block. I love how this project turned out and I hope it inspires you to create one of your own. :)

Time to Think Spring!

With all the feet of snow and more still falling as I look out my window, I can't help but turn my thoughts to Spring..  And that is exactly what I am doing with this adorable Easter Card.  Love the springy colors and the cute little bunny with a flower in her hair.   I used the Creative Charms Easter Kit to make this sweet card.  It has everything you need to create cards, gift bags and even picture frames for Spring.  The little Easter egg brads are so sweet and pastel flowers reflect the colors of Spring and take my mind away from the dreariness of winter.  It even comes with ribbon to add that finishing touch.  Don't forget...Think SPRING!

Vintage Poppies and Polka Dots...

As Valentines Day approaches, I'm hoping you will find yourself surrounded by the ones you love. I love this month and it shows in the projects we make for our friends and families, (and in some cases just ourselves). So...in keeping that in mind I'm showing you a couple more projects using some of the sweet all-in-one embellishment kits, and the first is a little gift box, the perfect way to package that sweet little gift for that someone special. The box uses the Polka Dot Valentines kit. It has everything you need to embellish the perfect gift box. To make the gift box, I simply painted a round paper-mache box with white acrylic paint, then distressed it. Then it's just a matter of adhering the ribbon, and all the other little goodies, the puffed polka dot heart, the rhinestones, and the lips and heart brads. I hope you enjoy!

And the second little project here is a "Love" wall hanging. I used the Vintage Poppies Kit, for this one and who doesn't love the sound of the word "Vintage Poppies"? I adore these sweet velvety flowers and their rich colors, and the floral gems are fast becoming one of my favorite embellishes. To make the wall hanging, I simply took 4 wooden miniature wooden plaques, added patterned paper, then added all the fun embellishments from the kit, used glittered letters, added a little misc pom-pom trim on the bottom, then wired them all together forming a wire hanger at the top. I hope you enjoy!

Home is where you hang your heart...

Thankyou all so very much for stopping by today. For a quick little project, I made a "Home is where you hang your heart", wall plaque. To make this, I first used a pre-made wooden home then decopaged some papers to the top, cut out a scalloped roof line, added a rub-on then glittered the whole thing. Then to finish the home, I added a pom pom roof line, and a white wooden fence. After that grab your favorite Creative Charms embellishments like the red ribbon, to adhere around the entire plaque, some gradient jewels to add to the pom pom trim and the chimney, a little red puffy heart, and some of those sweet red Braided Daisies for the perfect touch. I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by. :)

Sweet Thing! and Followed My Heart!

I am a new member of the Creative Charms Design Team and am so excited to be designing for them.  This is such an awesome company and you can now find all of their embellishments on Addicted to Scrapbooking.com  You will absolutely love all they have to offer.  My first contribution is a Valentine's card (never to early to start getting ready for the day of Love!) and features embellishments from the Sweet Tooth collection.  You can never go wrong with chocolates!  Inside is the sentiment "sweet thing" is accented with epoxy candy stickers.

On  this second valentine card we used Gradient Jewels to accent above the "lace" in the red and white and the adorable Sparkly Butterfly Gems from the Gem Garden collection.   The flower bouquet was created by stamping a stem and adding the puffy hearts for the flowers and the inside again finished with the sentiment " i love you" and accented with pink heart brads.

Valentine Layouts

I created these Valentine's layouts using two different Creative Charms Kits.

The first layout features a kit that contains: 2 Vintage Velvet Poppies, Velvet Ribbon, Pure Blossoms, Gradient Pearl Stickers and 3 Heart Brads.

I used Core'dinations Whitewash, Stemma Something Sweet and Red Cardstock for this layout. I added the Pearl Stickers to the Pure Blossoms and sanded the Core'dinations paper. I loved the Pearl Stickers on this layout - I used them throughout and they really added a special touch to the layout.
This second layout is more fun and whimsical. The kit contains: Ribbon, 5 Fabric Hearts, Large Circle Brad, Lips & Hearts Brads and Gradient Gem Stickers.

I used Bo Bunny Dots with Red and White Card Stock for the titles. I added some stitching and inking. The brads on this layout were great.

These kits were so fun, thanks for taking a look!

You Light Up My Life..

Valentines day is only a few short weeks away.  Here is a card using the Red Poppies from the Vintage Poppies Collection and Sparkled Butterflies from the Dream Garden Collection.  The border is accented with the Pink Gradient Gems.  The sentiment is stamped on CS  and accented with Stickles to give it some bling.  The background CS is embossed at the bottom and then sanded using Core'dinations cardstock.  Another version uses the larger Red Poppy and Red Gradiant Gems.  In the center of this poppy I used one of the White Vintage Brads and colored it red with alcohol ink.  The card is finished with white ribbon.  Visit the Creative Charms website to order these beautiful embellishments for your Valentine creations.
